The Press Card: An Indispensable Working Tool?

A Press Card serves as an indispensable professional tool that confirms the professional status of its holder.

It is particularly useful for independent journalists, as it provides the rights and protections afforded to all journalists under relevant laws, judicial rulings, and international treaties.

A Press Card facilitates access to events, accreditation requests, interviews, and reporting.

In many countries, a Press Card also provides rights to benefits reserved for the press, including tax deductions, discounted rates for transportation, travel accommodations, vehicle rentals, express delivery services, and more.

Each WorkPress member receives a free Press Card.

Your internationally recognized professional Press Card (1) will certify your Press Status and the protections (Reporter’s Privilege) afforded by national laws and international treaties. Furthermore, to enhance your professional activities, you will have the opportunity to select the Union College (2) that aligns with your primary profession. This choice will also grant you access to services dedicated to that activity.

(1) CERTIDoc Registration (EU Professional Digital Identity)

In accordance with DIRECTIVE 2013/55/EU dated November 20, 2013, concerning professional activities, all versions of the press cards (including bank card, US Press Pass, and eCard) are officially registered at CertiDoc under the Professional Digital Identity framework. These cards comply with the standards established by ISO/IEC 17024 certification, ensuring their validity and recognition.

(2) Choice of Union College

Upon joining, you will need to select the Union College that corresponds to your primary journalistic activity: Journalist, Photojournalist, Audiovisual Reporter, Blogger, Press Publisher, Podcaster, etc.

As a member, log in to assist.workpress.org and complete the form for Editing your Press Card or Requesting a Duplicate in case of loss.

If you are not a WorkPress member, please register for your WorkPress membership to receive a free Press Card.
